Culture of Pakistan

The people of Pakistan belong to different cultural backgrounds but share their hospitable and friendly nature. Here, you will come across some of the most warm-hearted people in the world. One of the main shopping attractions for tourists in this part of the world is the handicraft shops which sell a range of hand-crafted products. A great variety of leather goods, besides the delicately embroidered Kashmiri Pashmina shawls and Swati topis are readily available here. Pakistan also boasts of world class sports goods such as footballs, cricket bats and cricket balls.

Currency

Pakistan has a decimal system of currency with base units as Rupee. Exchange rates with other currencies vary daily. Currency exchange facilities are available at the airport, banks and hotels. Organizers will arrange a special counter for currency exchange at the Registration Desk. There are no restrictions for the transfer of foreign currency to Pakistan. The approximate exchange rate for USD is 1$= 283/- (as of July 2025).

Electrical Power

Throughout Pakistan, electrical power is supplied at 220 volts, 50 Hertz A.C. The connections for appliances require a two-pin plug.
